PDF to DOCX converter

Free, unlimited, no account. Fixed layout that looks the same everywhere. The format for sending, signing and printing. → Microsoft Word's editable document format.

🔒 Nothing is uploaded. Check the Network tab of your browser: it stays empty.

Converting PDF to DOCX gives you the same content in a different container. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, there is no queue and no size limit.

What changes when you convert PDF to DOCX

  • PDF is vector; DOCX is pixels. The output has a fixed size, so set the width you need: enlarging it later will blur.
  • Text comes back as editable paragraphs: lines are joined, words split by a hyphen at the end of a line are healed, and fonts, sizes, bold, italic and links are kept. Large titles become real Word headings, so the navigation pane works.
  • Tables are rebuilt as Word tables, from their borders when they have some and from aligned columns when they do not, merged cells included. Images keep their original resolution, and each PDF page starts a new page.
  • Two-column pages are read column by column. What is not rebuilt: text colours, floating text boxes, and figures or formulas drawn as vector graphics, whose labels come out as plain text.
  • Scanned pages contain a picture of the text, not text: they are kept as an image of the page, and the result says how many there were. Recognising their text (OCR) is coming.

Questions

Is my PDF file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser with WebAssembly. There is no upload endpoint on this site. You can open your browser's Network tab, or go offline after the page loads, and it still works.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed one. The limit is your device's memory: a large documents file on a phone is slower than on a laptop, but nothing is rejected for being big.

Is it free?

Yes, without an account, without a daily cap and without a watermark. Your device does the computing, so there is no server bill to pass on.

Will the quality drop?

No. DOCX is lossless: the content is stored exactly.

Can I convert several files at once?

Yes. Drop them all; each is converted in turn and you can download them one by one or as a single ZIP. For DOCX, several inputs are merged into one document.

Which engine does the conversion?

PDF engine (pdf.js + pdf-lib), compiled to WebAssembly and running in your browser. First use downloads about 1.5 MB, cached afterwards.
